Our guest speaker is Dan Price. Dan grew up in Southern Alberta and graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.  After graduating and obtaining his CPA/CA, he spent over 17 years working in corporate finance in both Calgary and Kelowna and joined the team here at Sunlife in November of 2022.   Dan is a Past President of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce and has previously volunteered as a hockey coach and as the Treasurer of the Kelowna Figure Skating Club.

Segregated funds are a powerful tool in wealth transfer planning. This presentation provides an overview of the product and examines a number of case studies involving the use of segregated funds to meet clients’ unique wealth transfer goals.

Case studies include:

1. Different ways to create a legacy:

a) Borrowing at any age

b) Inter vivos proxy

2. Blended family RRIF strategy
